Wrestling legend Dusty Rhodes has died, aged 69.
Best known to many for his comical run in WWF in yellow polka dots, Rhodes three-time NWA champion and veteran of some brutal, physical matches.
He was also one of the greatest promos in the history of professional wrestling.
Dusty was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007 and was a proud father to fellow wrestlers Goldust (Dustin Runnels) and Stardust/Cody Rhodes (Cody Runnels). Despite not actively wrestling for many years, Dusty has continued to work for WWE, most recently in their developmental brand NXT as a creative director and booker,
Triple H wrote on Twitter of Rhodes’ death: “Saddened to hear the passing of Dusty Rhodes. Legend, teacher, mentor, friend…Love you Dream.”
The cause of death is unknown.
