Zach Braff making West End debut

Written by: Katie Roberts

Multi-talented Scrubs star Zach Braff is bringing his self-penned hit play All New People to the West End for his UK stage debut.

Poster for Zach Braff's All New PeopleBraff, who won plaudits and awards for his quirky 2004 film Garden State, has enlisted the British talents of Torchwood actress Eve Myles and 4,3,2,1′s Susannah Fielding for the production, which visits Manchester and Glasgow before a two month run at the Duke of York’s Theatre in London.

The comedy centres on 35-year-old Charlie (Braff), who escapes to his friend’s swanky Long Beach Island pad to spend his birthday wallowing in self-pity. His solitude is disturbed when a group of misfits, all trying to prolong their stay in the States, turn up at the apartment and make themselves at home.

Peter Dubois directs following his hugely successful UK debut at the Almeida Theatre last year with Becky Shaw.

All New People is at the Manchester Opera House, February 8-11; and King’s Theatre, Glasgow, February 14-18; before opening at the Duke of York’s Theatre on February 22.
