The one thing the London stage has been missing is a show based on a cartoon superhero based on a fruit.

But now, here’s Bananaman the Musical.

Bananaman the Musical is the live-action debut of the ‘Man of Peel’, a cult cartoon character who began life in the Nutty comic in 1980, before transferring to The Dandy and ultimately before joining The Beano in 2012.

Most will know him from the hugely popular TV cartoon that ran between 1983 and 1986, and featured the voices of The Goodies. for 3 series and 40 episodes on the BBC and featured the voices of Tim Brooke-Taylor, Graeme Garden and Bill Oddie from The Goodies.

The show launches to the media on February 2, and details will follow soon after of where and when the musical will take place.
