Building on the smartwatch fever sweeping the industry, Huawei is apparently planning to release its own item of wearable tech later this month.
The Chinese company apparently has plans to show off a smartwatch and two new tablets at this year’s Mobile World Congress, including the 7-inch Huawei MediaPad X1 which was leaked online last week.
However, according to the Wall Street Journal, the company’s flagship Ascend P7 smartphone will be missing from the show, despite all other reports to the contrary.
Perhaps Huawei feels that a P7 launch at MWC would be swallowed up in the hoopla surrounding the unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S5.
With the Samsung Galaxy Gear stealing a march on the Android market, and speculation about Apple’s fabled iWatch steadily growing, will Huawei be able to offer a product that disrupts the market?
We’ll find out at this year’s Mobile World Congress event, which takes place between 24-27 February.
