For all those who thought this would be merely a big-budget remake of Shaun of The Dead, boy are you in for a welcome surprise.
Less horror, more giggling gore, one of the best things about Zombieland is its knowing cleverness and its totally irreverent attitude. How can you not love a movie where the two ‘hero’ characters happen to be an anal retentive with no mates, and a Twinkie-guzzling, trigger happy maniac who get well and truly shafted by a lippy teenager and her 12-year-old sister?

In June 2003, after years of searching for a way to merge her two passions of film and advocacy, Diaky Diaz arrived at the perfect idea: Artivist - a film festival dedicated to raising awareness for humanity, animals, and the environment.
“I have always felt a responsibility to the world around me,” says Diaz. “Turning on the six o’ clock news, looking outside my window, seeing our world in such chaos… I felt powerless. Eventually, I realised that I was forcing myself to decide: either look the other way or do something about it. Choosing to be a part of the solution gave me a deep sense of purpose. Since that day, when I got the idea to start this festival, I have never again felt powerless.”

After witnessing the bone-crunching arrival of Tony Jaa in Ong Bak and Warrior King, here in the UK we’ve had to wait quite some time for his period film, Onk Bak: The Beginning.
To get the story out of the way: we watch as Tien (Jaa) witnesses his parents’ death, is rescued by a martial arts school, learns various fighting styles, masters lots of weapons, remembers his past, goes on a violent, vengeful rampage and does lots more fighting.
Sound familiar? Okay, but did I mention this stars Tony Jaa?!
Ong Bak: The Beginning was quite an ambitious project for Jaa, as he filled the roles of writer, director and lead. Which is all very impressive, but sadly it was too much too soon for the action star.

Based on the Zombie’s successful Spookshow International comic, it tells the outrageously rude story of El Superbeasto a washed-up masked wrestler who uses his fame to get laid, get loaded, star in tasteless porn and occasionally fight crime using his superhuman strength.
