Prince has been announced as the final headline act for this year’s Hop Farm Music Festival.

The three-day event will take place at Paddock Wood, Kent between July 1 and 3, and includes other headline acts Morrissey and The Eagles.

Prince is to play the Hop Farm Festival

Festival Organiser Vince Power said: “I am really excited about having Prince at the Hop Farm, we have worked hard to get the third day up and running and we hope that fans will appreciate the integrity of the bill and see it’s one of the most musically exciting this year that stands head and shoulders above a lot of other festivals.”

It will be the first UK performance from Prince since his record-breaking 21-date residency at London’s O2 arena back in 2007. It forms part of a string of performances he has lined-up for Europe and the Kent date is likely to be his only UK show of the summer.

Tickets for the third day will go on sale at 9am on May 19, with current two-day ticket holders able to upgrade their tickets for just £40.

Other acts confirmed to play the music event include the likes of Iggy and The Stooges, Lou Reed, The Human League, Guillemots and Brandon Flowers.
