Hot on the heels of the NME’s offering comes this compilation filled with the ‘ultimate festival line-up’. Hmmmm.
Helpfully split into two discs – one rock, one dance – this is the kind of collection your dad will listen to when he’s trying to be cool.
That’s not to say it’s bad – but it is packed with the kind of bands Radio 2 will happily give airtime to: The Fray, Manic Street Preachers, Stereophonics, Travis, Groove Armada… you know the sort.
There’s a slight nod to more recent bands with crowbarred-in appearances from the likes of Mumm-Ra and Get Cape… but the majority of this selection is handed over to dadrock.
Like the NME collection, it’ll be great for the journey to the campsite, but only if a middle-aged relative is driving.
