World prepares for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

One mammoth game release this week and a truck load of trailers ends the gaming week on a high, gearing up for the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 today.

Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception was without a doubt the biggest launch of the week, the third in the award-winning PlayStation franchise, sees Nathan Drake return for more graphically impressive adventures around the globe.

Keep an eye out for our review coming soon. In the meantime, here’s the official launch trailer to fawn over.

The other big news of the week was the official reveal of Grand Theft Auto V, or five… whichever way you like to say it. Rockstar Games showed the trailer online on Tuesday but gave no further details such as a release date or any plot info.

The one minute and 24 second trailer does indeed build hype for the game though, confirming that the setting is Los Santos – Rockstar’s version of Los Angeles – and according to rumours will also feature the surrounding countryside and beaches.

The other strong suggestion is that this time around the game will be played from the perspective of multiple characters and not just one, the internet has taken to guessing Tommy Vercetti from GTA: Vice City and CJ from GTA: San Andreas are in the trailer (00:39 and 1:05 respectively) and that Vercetti is actually the trailer’s narrator.

Of course this is all mere speculation, nothing will be set in stone until Rockstar officially confirm it but it’s always fun to guess.

The release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has given us some really nice trailers to look at so far and now Activision have released a 90 second-live action trailer featuring Sam Worthington and Jonah Hill.

Sam is the veteran (who coincidentally enough voiced the character of Mason in Black Ops) and Jonah is the n00b who has to learn from Sam.

Modern Warfare 3 is released worldwide on Tuesday, November 8th and most stores will no doubt be holding midnight openings on Monday night.
